Swift Joy is the message arriving. Fire in the south, the vermilion bird in flight — this is the fastest palace of the six, and the only one that reliably means something good is coming rather than something must be done. It favours communication, replies, offers, and the sudden clearing of a question that had been hanging.
When the count lands here
A reply, an offer, or a piece of news is close. The matter resolves more quickly and more favourably than the situation currently suggests.
Timing
Imminent. Hours to days. If nothing arrives within a week, the reading was distorted and worth casting again.
What it asks of you
Be reachable, answer promptly, and be ready to say yes. Speed is the whole advantage of this palace — the window is short.
The moment is favourable. Move while it is open.
Favours
- Sending the message you have been drafting
- Asking directly
- Acting within the next day or two
- Anything social, public or celebratory
Warns against
- Hesitating until the offer expires
- Letting excitement outrun the details
- Assuming it is confirmed before it is in writing
How the count reaches this palace
Xiao Liu Ren counts around a ring of six palaces. You start at 大安 as the first lunar month, count forward one palace per month, then from there one per day of the lunar month, then one per double-hour of the day. The palace you stop on is the answer. Landing on 速喜 is one of six possible outcomes; the casting page does the counting and shows all three stopping points.
